Thanks to amazon I am able to upgrade to this higher level of mattress and test it out. I've been sleeping on it a bit over a month and feel confident, I did the right thing. This mattress is better than my Sleep Innovations 12-inch Sure Temp Memory Foam Mattress - Queen Size so the question is it worth about double the price.The price judgment is, for me, based on how you sleep. I tend to sleep on my side and stomach. Both are very good mattresses. I fell in love with the first one and am becoming overjoyed with the new one. The sure Temp is a two layer foam version the Elegence is three layers. They are both 12" so the layers have to be thinner. That said the top layer is softer, but the mattress is still FIRM. One thing I immediately noticed was when I rolled onto my stomach, my knee was absorbed by the top layer and my leg was supported. I felt like I was floating with no stress. The Sure Temp didn't provide this feature yet was still very comfortable. I now find myself sleeping on my stomach more and getting a very good rest. Since changing to memory foam, morning back ache disappeared and that remains the same. Both are very good mattresses and are of high quality. The Elegence does kick it up a notch with a very elegant pretty gold threaded top cover. There is also a gold…

I had reviewed and looked at a lot of memory foam beds before deciding on this. I was still not sure, but after having it for a month I couldn't be happier. It unfolded almost to its full size as soon as we opened it. I was able to sleep on it the very first night. It is firm, which is what I wanted;however, it does comform to your body from your body heat. I thought all those aches and pains in the morning were normal, but after sleeping on this bed and waking up without pain, I realize that it was the old mattress and not necessarily my old body. The one con for this mattress is that it is very heavy and making the bed requires you to put a bit more muscle into it when lifting the corners. It's ok I need the workout. I am so glad I went with this bed instead of spending much more on the big name mattress.

I've only slept on it for one night, but this is easily the best mattress I've ever slept on. I was a little scared of how it came; it was shiped via UPS in a big box (a box the size of my UPS man), and boy was it heavy! I unpacked the mattress and rolled it out (it was jelly-rolled, and folded in half...I got the full size, so I'm not sure how a larger mattress ships), and it rolled out upside down. Oops! I flipped it (again, it was heavier than I expected), and left it for about 10 hours to "recover". I slept on it last night, and it still had a little bit of a hump where it was folded over, but according to the insert from Serta, it should smooth down within 72 hours. It took me a little while to figure out a comfortable position...I was a side-sleeper on my old mattress, and I ended up sleeping on my back. It felt like I was sinking down for a while, which was different than my Simmons Deep Sleep spring mattress that I had gotten rid of. I felt really refreshed when I woke up this morning, which was nice.I'm a plus-sized chick, and get hot easily, so I sleep with my ceiling fan on "low" year 'round...with this mattress I may not need to. It was very cooling; when I rolled over the mattress was really cool, and the memory foam never made me hot. I'm in the 'burbs of Atlanta, so I'm looking forward to seeing if I stay cool in bed this summer. Even though this is a review section for the King size, I purchased the Queen mattress with the 12" foam and 5" pillowtop in March of 2010 which appears to no longer be available and so when attempting to leave a review now, it's directing me here. Hopefully you'll be better off with the 13" and 5.5" pillowtop. That said...When my mattress first arrived, it smelled really strong. We aired it out for over a week, couldn't wait any longer and in addition to putting sheets on it, we also laid down 2 blankets under us to insulate us from the strong fumes. After about a month the worst of the fumes were gone, it was probably almost 2 months before the smell was completely gone. The people reviewing similar beds and also saying that they were sleeping on it within just a few days - either they're olfactory senses are dead from a lifetime of inhaling toxicity, or the manufacturing process is inconsistent, which would not speak well for the product itself.For about 8-9 months, the mattress was great. In early 2011, my side of the mattress started to kind of cave in. The foam has become really soft, and I sink in too deep into the mattress, so much so that the middle of the bed is still firm, and so it's created a slope in addition to how mushy my side of the bed has become, and so I wake up sometimes during the night because of how uncomfortable I've become and so my back starts to hurt mildly. So I called the Sleep Shop to find out the difference in this mattress & the "Dynasty" mattress ...well, they are the same mattress; both manufactured by the Sleep Shop. So those of you who are shopping around, there's your answer. Even the covers are the same, but the embroidery is different.At any rate, we received this mattress very quickly ...and it happened to be the day before we went out of town. So we slept great that first night & did notice a slight odor, but nothing to bothersome. Since we were gone for the next 5 days, I can't attest to how long the odor lasted. I did order pillows & protectors for the mattress & pillows. It's been 3 weeks & there is a barely noticeable odor but I can't say for certain that it is the mattress.As for comfort of the mattress, like MANY people have attested regarding memory foam mattresses, it takes about a week to get used to. I think it is a little on the firm side, but every morning for the first week my back felt a little better. I can now say I LOVE this mattress! I just hope it stands the test of time. Yes, there is a 20 year warranty (full 10 year & then prorated), but I would have to pay for shipping. So we'll just have to see...

Here is a real short version of a very long story. We originally ordered the 12 inch sleep innovations foam mattress in the king size. We got the box and hauled it's 85 pounds up stirs and opened it up to find that it was only a queen. We then had to figure out a way to repack it to return it (this is the long part of the story). After sending it back Amazon sent us another one to correct the problem. However we once again received a queen instead of a King. This time we requested a refund (which we have not received yet aver over a week) and headed off to the mattress store to find something. After a two day search we came back to Amazon to try one last time with the Serta and I am so glad that we did.The mattress arrived on time and packaged much like the sleep innovations bed. This box however was considerably heavier, I used a dolly to bring it's 115+ pounds into my house and up the stairs. Because of size issues we had before we checked both the tags on the box real good to make sure it was a king. Next we carefully opened the box and located the tag on the mattress. Then we pealed the plastic wrapping back just enough to pull the tag out and make sure it was a king. It was and we were very excited. I would highly recommend you do this as well. It takes sometime but once these mattresses are out of the bag there is no way to get them back in, sending them back can be done but not without hours of hard work and a trip to sears for a washing machine box, lots of rope and rolls…

And maybe prepare you for what you might encouter when purchasing this mattress.We thought we had made a huge mistake purchacing this mattress. The first one arrived damaged. The second was sealed in a plastic package, and when we opened it in our room there was a potent smell being emitted from the foam. We still tried to sleep on it, but decided to move to our quest bedroom within an hour. We left our bedroom windows open and door shut for a little over a week. Thankfully the smell left.As if the smell weren't enough, the mattress proved to be very very firm, and slow to react when we changed sleeping positions. The mattress was my choice, and I could tell my wife was losing patience. We went and purchased a down-like matress topper. The topper made the mattress bearable, but still not all that great.Over the next week or two we became pleasently surprized as the mattress "broke in." It became much softer-though it still gives firm support-and it responds much faster to change of position. After a month or so we spun the bed 180 degrees in order to use the weight of our upper body to break in the foot of the bed. I loooove this bed! My sister owns a tempur pedic which i have slept on many times and i swear this bed feels the same! I spent 6mo (atleast) researching many diffrent memory foam/latex beds online and testing mattressess at stores and I ended up choosing this one which is memory/latex mix and couldnt be more pleased. I sleep so much better than i did before with spring mattress. This was my first memory foam and i will NEVER go back to spring mattress!FACT: You really cannot feel when other person moves in bed. My 10mo old baby sleeps all night long now because he doesnt feel my movements but w/spring mattress he awoke almost everytime i moved. But 14in depth made it hard to find safty rail to keep baby from falling out bed. FACT: It feels like im layin in someones arms..like its alive, because you literally feel it comforming/molding to YOUR body. NOt a light "springy" feel at all, more like dense and "doughy" feel. The last few nights i have even layed in bed to watch a movie before doozing off while before i used to sit at computer and watch movies. FACT: This bed stinks at first! After opening it had chemical smell, not like new car, more like the way a painted room smells after 3rd day of drying. Now this smell gave me a headache for 2 days because of rain i barley had windows open so fumes lingered but after 1 week smell was gone. I did a lot of research on memory foam mattresses, including Tempur-Pedic mattresses starting at $2000 for a queen. This one cost 1/4 that price and I think is just as good. Made in USA, Foamex is a leader in memory foam technology. There are a lot of cheaper-made Chinese imports out there, which I suspect are inferior.Ships in a heavy vacuum packed plastic wrapping inside a large cardboard box. Once I unwrapped it, it seemed too small for my frame, but within 24 hours it filled the frame just right and expanded to dimensions listed on Amazon. I noticed only the slightest smell for the first day, which disappeared quickly. Cover is very good quality stretch fabric, with a zipper along the bottom for easy removal and cleaning.This mattress rocks! I've noticed I don't toss and turn as much as I did with my old inner spring mattress, and don't wake up during the night. It's a slight bit firmer than I thought it would be, but still totally comfortable.Strongly recommend this product.

Received as promised, in a box that would make one think "no WAY is there a 14" bed in there". We opened, placed on our existing bedframe that has been modified to a platform. In our opinion it is not too firm. I have already noticed a reduction in body aches less than a week in. As for the off-gassing? It seems to be dissapating. I moved a Peace Lily that I had in the house into the bedroom since they are said to help absorb off-gassing. Warm? Oh you better believe it, but so far not intolerably so. It was a leap of faith to buy a bed online. I don't regret my decision.

It took about 2 weeks to receive it. So far its been very comfy. Its been about 5 weeks. No complaints.

We ordered this mattress last week, it was shipped from Commerce City, Colorado, to us here in Wichita, KS in two days (the ordering is what took so long, but the shipping was quick Thursday showed shipped and Friday it arrived). The box is huge! It was very heavy even for my hunky husband. The box was very damaged obviously. With something this large and heavy, it can't be avoided at all. However, it was obvious the mattress was well wrapped and just fine upon arrival. It was marked KING and LUCID all over the box and was obvious that it was the correct item. It had been raining here for the past week nonstop and I was worried if I wasn't home when it arrived that it would get soaked. However it was wrapped sooo well in plastic, I know I wouldn't have had anything to worry about. The UPS man heaved it into my garage for me on a dolly. It arrived in the morning around 1030 am (and it wasn't raining at that time). DH took the mattress box all the way to the bedroom, it was easier to do that than take the mattress out. It had two nylon straps he was able to grab to pull it. He put the mattress roll on the bed and popped the plastic it began to expand quickly. You could smell the "new paint" smell but it definitely was not overwhelming by any means. We had readied the windows and fan, but it wasn't necessary.
